PRIVACY POLICY

AI Money Vault ("we", "our", "the App") is a personal finance tracking application for iOS. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data Storage
Your financial data is yours. All transactions, accounts, categories, and goals are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your financial records unless you enable cloud sync.
2. Cloud Sync (Optional)
If you sign in with Google or Apple, the App may sync your data to Firebase (Google Cloud) for backup and multi-device access. Synced data includes:
- Account names and balances
- Transaction records (amounts, dates, categories, notes)
- Categories and financial goals
- App preferences and settings
Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore and protected by security rules that ensure only you can access your own data. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
3. AI Processing
The App uses AI for:
- Voice command parsing — your transcribed text (not audio) is sent to our server for interpretation
- Receipt scanning — receipt images are processed via AI to extract items and amounts
- AI chat assistant — conversations are processed to provide financial insights
Important: Voice recordings are processed locally on your device using Apple Speech Recognition. Only the transcribed text is sent to AI. AI providers do not use API data to train models.
AI requests are routed through our server-side proxy. Your device IP is not exposed to AI providers.
4. Analytics
When enabled (on by default, can be toggled off in Settings), we collect anonymous usage analytics via Firebase Analytics:
- App language and base currency
- Feature usage frequency (voice input, receipt scan, AI chat)
- Command types (expense, income, transfer — without amounts or descriptions)
- Category matching accuracy (auto-matched vs manually changed)
- Subscription plan type
- Screen views and app sessions
- Device type and OS version (collected automatically by Firebase)
We never collect:
- Transaction amounts, names, or descriptions
- Personal financial information
- Voice recordings or chat message content
- Contact information beyond your sign-in email
- Location data
When usage analytics is enabled, the app may also collect anonymized AI and voice feature improvement data, including: language, input mode, command type, whether the result was edited, which fields were corrected, and confidence metrics. This data does not contain raw text, transcripts, financial amounts, item names, account or category names, notes, or any user-identifying information.
You can disable analytics at any time in the App's Profile > AI & Voice section.
5. Authentication
We use Firebase Authentication. Sign-in options include:
- Anonymous sign-in — no personal data collected
- Google Sign-In — we receive your name, email, and profile photo
- Sign in with Apple — we receive your name and email (or relay email if you choose to hide it)
Authentication data is stored securely in Firebase Auth and used solely to identify your account.
6. Third-Party Services
- Firebase (Google Cloud) — authentication, cloud storage, analytics, cloud functions
- AI API — text processing (via server proxy, no direct client connection)
- Apple StoreKit — subscription management (payment data handled entirely by Apple)
- CurrencyAPI / CoinGecko — exchange rates (fetched server-side, no user data sent)
7. Data Retention
- Local data: remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App
- Cloud data: retained until you delete your account or request deletion
- Analytics data: retained in aggregate form, automatically expires per Firebase Analytics retention policies (14 months)
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data (locally available in the App at any time)
- Export your data (CSV export feature)
- Delete your data (Settings > Delete All Data, or contact us)
- Disable analytics (toggle in Settings)
- Request account deletion (contact us at the email below)
9. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
